Size and placement

Get the height right

Typical mounting heights. Your electrician will confirm the final position.

  • Beside a door

    Mount it about 1.7 to 1.8 m above the threshold. With a single light, put it on the handle side of the door.

  • Over a door or garage

    Centre it with the shade 150 to 300 mm above the door frame. Over a double garage, use two or three, evenly spaced.

  • Along a deck or path

    Space them 2.5 to 3 m apart for even light. The shade directs light down onto the ground, not into people's eyes.

Can it go outside?

Yes. It's US wet rated and made from aluminium, so it can take direct rain. Near the sea, an occasional rinse with fresh water keeps the finish looking its best.

Can I use it indoors?

Yes. Foundry is designed for inside and out, so it also works over a kitchen bench, in a laundry or in a garage.

Which bulb does it take?

One E27 bulb, not included. Use an LED of up to 14 W.

Is it dimmable?

Yes, with a dimmable bulb and a compatible dimmer switch. Your electrician can confirm the dimmer.

Is it suitable for New Zealand?

Yes. It is converted to 230 V for New Zealand, and a Supplier Declaration of Conformity is available on request.
