Size and placement

Get the height right

Typical mounting heights. Your electrician will confirm the final position.

  • Bedside

Centre the backplate about 1.2 to 1.5 m from the floor, so the shade sits just above your head when sitting up.

  • Reading chair

Mount to the side of the chair, roughly level with the top of the chair back plus 300 to 400 mm.

  • Kitchen window or shelving

Space them evenly; 600 to 900 mm apart keeps the light continuous along a bench.

Uses

Where Arti works best

  1. 01
    Kitchen windows

Run a row along a window or bench for task light that looks deliberate, and swing each one where it is needed.

  2. 02
    Reading corners

Over an armchair, the 476 mm reach lands light over your shoulder rather than in your eyes. The same goes for either side of a bed.

  3. 03
    Open shelving and art

Tilt the shade to wash shelves or a favourite print, then swing it back against the wall.

Good to know

Questions customers ask

Quick answers before you buy.

How far does the arm reach?

The shade sits 476 mm out from the wall at rest and up to 521 mm with the arm fully extended. The arm swings left and right and the shade tilts up and down.

Which bulb does it take?

One E27 bulb, not included. We recommend a dimmable LED such as the GE E27 A60 10 W clear.

Is it dimmable?

Yes, with a dimmable bulb and a compatible dimmer switch. Your electrician can confirm the dimmer.

Can it go in a bathroom?

Arti is US dry rated, so we recommend it for living spaces and bedrooms. For bathrooms, look at the Arti vanity lights, which are damp rated.

Is it suitable for New Zealand?

Yes. It is converted to 230 V for New Zealand, and a Supplier Declaration of Conformity is available on request.

Will you match a lower price?

Yes. If another authorised New Zealand retailer advertises the same product, in the same finish, for less, send us the link before you order and we will match it. The details are on our price match promise page.
